Sanrai International and Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare presented the PulmO2 to FCDO

On 13 June 2024, Sanrai International and Drive DeVilbiss Healthcare presented the PulmO2 to the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) with the support of the Oxygen Co-Lab, a non-profit focused on the use of and innovation in oxygen delivery systems.

The full day meeting started with an overview of the oxygen gap. More than 1 million deaths occur every year due to hypoxemia in low and middle income countries, most of which are preventable. Nearly than 25 million deaths annually require oxygen. While the Oxygen Co-Lab focused on the story of 7 disruptions in the oxygen landscape, Drive DeVilbiss and Sanrai were ready to finally demonstrate a working PulmO2 oxygen concentrator after years of development!

Some key advantages of oxygen concentrators in the hospital environment are:

  • Easily moved around to meet high demand
  • Consistently generate oxygen, no possibility of running out
  • Easy to use and maintain
  • Safe

From the traditional homecare concentrator, the PulmO2 revolutionized how oxygen can be supplied in hospitals. Designed to be Fit for Purpose Worldwide, the PulmO2 saves up to 67% of energy needed with significantly improved usability and robustness. This has a significant reduction in total cost of ownership over 5 years compared to current concentrators.

Furthermore, with the collaboration between Drive DeVilbiss and Sanrai, the PulmO2 sits within a wider ecosystem which includes tools and resources for clinicians, patients, and biomedical technicians. The presentation concluded with an ask to the broader community to come together to improve awareness and begin deployment of the PulmO2 resulting in the availability and accessibility of oxygen everywhere.

We’d like to offer a huge Thank You to FCDO, Oxygen Co-Lab, and the other attending organizations for listening and being the first to see the PulmO2 in action!
